10. TOBACCO AGING

Aging tobaco in bales

Aging is carried out in cellars with controlled temperature and humidity, it consists of letting the tobacco rest for as many years as the company considers necessary.

The raw tobacco aging process is a very natural process, rather than being expensive, it is very laborious, because periodically, four to five times a year, the bales are opened, in order to check the correct humidity conditions, which involves undoing the bale, moistening the tobacco, if necessary, and re-packing it at the required temperature and humidity.
