07. AIR CURING TOBACCO

Tobacco air curing in Mexico

Tobacco air curing consists of applying low and homogeneous heat to the tobacco leaves, for thirty-five days, on average, inside the galleys, for the leaves to dehydrate completely, and thus they can acquire golden and specific characteristics. This process is extremely important since we can harvest excellent quality tobacco, but if the heat is not applied correctly, in a timely manner, the leaves can dry out with green parts, not uniform or with an undesirable texture, for what the quality would be completely lost and these would no longer be used for any use. That is why, the criteria and care that are applied for drying tobacco must be maintained twenty-four hours a day, for the duration of drying.
